SalesForce Tower animation. Sunset and lights on a San Francisco cityscape.

SalesForce Tower, San Francisco CA

Sunset in the Financial District in San Francisco. As the daylight fades the city buildings start to light up. Offering colors and shadows and now animation on the peak of the SalesForce tower. The animations are the creations of artist Jim Campbell and is an ongoing, ever changing animations are derived and culled from various video cameras placed throughout the city. The art represents daily life in San Francisco. Just what this animation depicts I am not clear. There are cameras in Golden Gate Park, so perhaps this images is one of the bison in the Paddock at the western portion of the park. Who knows? What other daily images of large farm animals can be found in the city? Your thoughts?

have been a photographer since childhood. My passion ignited on a 50 mile hike in the Sierra as a boy scout. My compact instamatic camera got a workout. Shortly after, I graduated to an SLR camera. I wore my first SLR, a Praktica, around my neck for almost all my senior year in high school. I live in the most wonderful place on the planet, the San Francisco bay area. The City is amongst the most picturesque in the world, and with good reason. There are so many iconic features, most notably the Golden Gate Bridge. Beyond the City, we have the amazing California coast both north and south of the bridge. Parks and preserves are always close at hand. I love the fact that I can be downtown and within 5 or 10 minutes, I can be deep in a park with no cars or traffic and few people.
