Spring Wildflowers. Splash of color

Oscar Wilde once said, "A flower blossoms for its own joy." And boy are we ready for some spring blossoms. On this rainy day in the bay area, I thought a quick trip back to May of last year, in the heart of the wildflower bloom, I might bring a lost image back to life. Here’s an example of multiple images I merged in HDR on Lightroom. The result was more than satisfactory. Perhaps the blooms were for the flowers’ own joy, but I’m glad I was there to capture the joy and share it with you.

have been a photographer since childhood. My passion ignited on a 50 mile hike in the Sierra as a boy scout. My compact instamatic camera got a workout. Shortly after, I graduated to an SLR camera. I wore my first SLR, a Praktica, around my neck for almost all my senior year in high school. I live in the most wonderful place on the planet, the San Francisco bay area. The City is amongst the most picturesque in the world, and with good reason. There are so many iconic features, most notably the Golden Gate Bridge. Beyond the City, we have the amazing California coast both north and south of the bridge. Parks and preserves are always close at hand. I love the fact that I can be downtown and within 5 or 10 minutes, I can be deep in a park with no cars or traffic and few people.
