Landscapes and Seascapes

I have been a photographer since childhood. My passion ignited on a 50 mile hike in the Sierra as a boy scout. My compact instamatic camera got a workout. Shortly after, I graduated to an SLR camera. I wore my first SLR, a Praktica, around my neck for almost all my senior year in high school.

I live in the most wonderful place on the planet, the San Francisco bay area. The City is amongst the most picturesque in the world, and with good reason. There are so many iconic features, most notably the Golden Gate Bridge. Beyond the City, we have the amazing California coast both north and south of the bridge. Parks and preserves are always close at hand. I love the fact that I can be downtown and within 5 or 10 minutes, I can be deep in a park with no cars or traffic and few people.

Nature and Wildlfe Photography

As a nature and outdoor photographer, I love the scouting, hiking, questing, traveling and camaraderie that it provides me. I love being inspired. One of my main inspirations is the coast. I am blessed to live close enough to the coast to get there within minutes. And the locations I go to again and again never fail to inspire me with new and wonderful scenes to capture. Nature in all her beauty, flowers, plants, trees and wildlife are subjects that I love as well. And I love the work in the photo processing when an image evolves into magic.

Action Photos

People and things that move. Planes, trains and automobiles. Or sports and people who play are subjects that inspire me. That also includes the pets we take along for fun. Food Imagery

My main occupation for over 20 years has been in the kitchen as a cook and chef. Which leads to my food photography. I have an extensive archive of “food porn”, that is images of food and dishes.
