Rocks, waves and clouds. High tide on the California coast.
Bean Hollow State Beach, Pescadero CA
This is another throwback image I have re-edited. Showing the power of the ocean on the California coast. When the tide is high and the weather is threatening, images like this are common. But it’s still a waiting game, as the waves come to shore in groups, and as the saying goes, the seventh wave is the biggest one. These “sneaker” waves are often the biggest of the set and it’s true up and down the Pacific Coast. Of course, the trick is to know which wave is number one. For the photographer, it is a matter of patience and some counting.
